Have you ever come across a recipe and thought, “wow, that looks AMAZING. But could I REALLY make that myself?” Sunday is the day that one of us finds a recipe in a book, on a website, on Pinterest, etc and makes it to see if it is duplicable for the average person. Today’s recipe is Caramel Banana Upside Down Bread by The Daring Gourmet. Here is the link: http://www.daringgourmet.com/2013/06/10/caramel-banana-upside-down-bread/
So how did this go? I followed the directions exactly. Except for the caramel part. After the bread cooled enough to put the Caramel glaze on, it just look sooooo yummy that we had to try it. The next thing we knew, the loaf was gone a couple hours later. The top was extra soft, the bread had a lot of taste to it, and we wanted more even after it was gone! I think what made it extra yummy was leaving the bananas for the bread mixture (not the ones I sliced for the top of the bread) to get old for about a week. This is definitely on my must keep list!
