French Bread Pizza: A Dinner Made by the Whole Family

Our kids LOVE helping with dinner.  They often even fight over who gets to be my helper.  With these French bread pizzas, ALL the kids can help!

1-2 loaves French bread
(one loaf makes 6-8 pizzas)
Pizza sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Your choice of toppings
(We used mini pepperoni, onions, green peppers, black olives, and mushrooms.)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Using a long, serated knife, slice the bread into the size pieces you want. Then slice each piece longways to make two each (just like you would to make garlic bread).
3. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to slightly toast the bread.
4. If working with smaller kids, transfer the bread over to a cooled pan when it comes out.
5. While the bread is baking, empty the ingredients you chose (chop what is needed as you go) into bowls.

6. Let each child make their own pizza(s).  We call over one child at a time.  We put the sauce on, then the cheese, then the toppings so that we know whose is whose when they come out of the oven.

7. Bake until the cheese is melted, usually about 10 minutes.

8. Enjoy!  Our kids love making these! They get to choose their own toppings and make their own dinner.  This way everyone gets what they want.

    • Thank you! It goes floor to ceiling. We had to put a second one on another wall because that one is filled. I have been wanting to do a blog post on how to build it! Some people in our house are OCD. So the cars all have categories and subcategories for organization. Lol.
